"Fourth" and "Fifth"

This entire series and the process of using a tiny painting to paint a larger one has been amazing for me!

"Fourth" 48x48

"Fifth" 48x48
Available
It was such a great experience translating tiny brushstrokes into large areas of flat color ....

and though it's a departure from my normal painting style...

I am IN LOVE with how the exaggerated areas of paint and color ...

emphasize how color shapes come together to make the image ....

and of course, the paint is so thick and buttery, I just want to eat it! :)

So delicious! I love the bits of red and yellow and how they make the bows even more delightful.

I still love those lunch bags... I see them lurking there on the left...

Your babies turned out even better than I had imagined. Do I detect vanilla cream cheese frosting? yum! Did you track your tubes of paint?

Karen Appleton said...

ah thank you Jennifer :) yes, they lurk around in my head saying paint more of us :)

Thank you so much Marilyn! It looks like frosting for sure! I should go back through my receipts and total up the tubes, but I'm afraid too!!! :) ignorance is bliss!

Don't eat the paint! It's pizenus! Have you seen the movie "Vincent and Theo?" Van Gogh licks his brushes. Probable what led to the ear incident.
