Art Chicago - Next 2009

Yesterday Chicago's annual art event, Art Chicago - Next, came to a close.  This event is an opportunity to see galleries from all over the world, and the artists they represent.  It is the highlight of my spring to see so much artwork all under one roof, and one of the reasons I'm grateful to live here.

This year was my favorite of the three I've attended, and I have posted a video of my visit to the show on my new blog.  Click Here, and enjoy!

Oh Karen, thank you! This video was absolutely inspiring!! I'm going to come back later and watch it full screen. You must be very excited and inspired by the experience.
Loved your music. Who was that?

Thanks Silvina, glad you liked it. I am very inspired, it was a great show.

I should have listed the music credits at the end of the video. The music is by The Cure, from the Disintegration cd. First song, during the train ride portion is "Prayers for Rain", and "Pictures of You" is the main song.

Thanks Silvina!

Ooops, I made a mistake about the title of the first song, the title is The Same Deep Water As You, by The Cure, instead of Prayers for Rain. Sorry, two water songs, got them confused :)

Thank you so much for posting this video! What a great idea! I also found it highly inspiring and envy you for having been there. But your video conveyed the impression of actually being there very well! I am sure I will be looking at this video often in the future.
Thank again, Karen and by the way, I understand why you love your painting - it is gorgeous as usual!

Thank you Liza! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video, I had so much fun making it, and am so happy to be able to pass along some of the inspiring artwork I saw.

Before I moved to Chicago, I would read about this show in art magazines and long to be there, now I'm just thrilled to actually live here and be able to share this great art event my city offers.

Thank you for the feedback and also the kind words about my painting!

very cool! My girlfriend is from Chicago and she is dying to get back to visit. Never been myself...

Michael, you should plan a trip next spring for Art Chicago. Of course make sure you stay long enough to spend several days in Chicago's museum, The Art Institute. Plus loads of galleries to check out too!

Hey Karen, this is a great video. Thanks for the tease! :) I couldn't hear the music though, so I'll have to try again later (maybe a bad connection?). Thanks for sharing this.

Dang Alia, the music is the best part ;) ha! No actually I'm really serious! Not that the paintings aren't super-fantastic, but the music really ties the whole thing together.

Thanks for giving it a try!
