  8. You are just masterful with color. All those subtleties; I wish I could watch how you do it. You made Barbie perfect. :) Love it! Love all the thick paint, too. Do you use a brush or a knife? I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of her. I know what you mean about laundry and other real life things. . .it's so fun to be in a creative bubble. Lisa

  9. Hi Lisa, thank you!! I use brushes the majority of the time, but mix big piles of paint with the knife and sometimes grab the paint directly off the knife with the brush... so I can get a big blob right on the end of the brush. Thank you for commenting!

  11. Karen, I presume you must have loads of art stuff to store at home with all the brushes, paint and canvas sheets. Could you perhaps share how you deal with storage at home or do you rent an external storage unit and retrieve them when the need arises? I have a few friends who are art enthusiasts as well and their houses are kind of in a mess all the time (but I heard you artists work best in your mess). Just gathering the various perspectives of different users.

  12. Hi Karen,
Love how Barbie is coming along. All that thick paint reminds me of lipstick when I look at this painting. Hope you are well. Tammy

  13. I have been to a few houses of friends whenever I travel for work, and it just amazes me how they use color and storage cabinets to define living spaces. This artwork is a good example. For a very tight space, I would suggest not to use artworks like this that have a very ‘heavy’ color scheme. Not focusing on the size, which I think could be huge, such color scheme would make the space look crowded and tight. For small spaces, use light colors (and a lot of mirrors) to have that sense of big space. Light colors could be used for storage cabinets or containers.
