Slowly but surely it is coming along. I don't know what it is..... but I can not get enough of bows! There is just something unexplainable and spiritual (??) to me about them. I am fascinated with all the actual colors that exist in one hue, plus these stick on bows always glow from the inside causing the richest color in the center, or heart, of the bow. For some reason this really adds to my obsession with the concept of seen vs. unseen/body vs. soul.
I will continue to work on the contrasts and edges until I feel the bow is just right. I should hopefully be through with the bow portion of the painting tomorrow.

So glad to see a new post!
That bow is really glowing. Beautiful.
Is the little painting a study? it looks so complete.

you know Karen, I think if you painted a bunch of small bows, gifts they would sell like hotcakes. I thought of you and your bows when I was in Target yesterday shopping for gift wrap! :-) Your work is so gorgeous.

Thank you all so much for your great comments. It has been so inspirational for me to have other artists input! I think this blog thing is a special network for artists. Silvina, yes, the small painting is a study, it is 5 x7 and it is the first post for this demo series. Debbie, you are so kind for the suggestions. I actually have painted about 20 or more of the 'presents' and have been very lucky that most all have sold. I have most of this "Present Series" on my actual website. I am hoping with this blog to really experiment with this series and fully develope the concept. Oh yes Target is one of my favorite gift wrapping sources.:)
